A cylindrical tank having cross section area A = 0.5 m 2 is filled with liquid of density d 1 = 900 kg/m 3 , up to a height h= 80 cm. A small hole having area a= 5 cm 2 is made in right vertical wall at bottom. Calculate 1) horizontal force F to keep the cylinder in equillibrium , if it is placed on a smooth horizontal plane.

f=(dm/dt)change in velocity
avd(v)
as we know velocity of efflux=2gh*1/2
v=(2 x 10 x 80 x 10*-2)*1/2
v=4
hence,f=5 x 10*-2x4x900x4
