When the stone is dropped at that instant also the acceleration of the jet is "a" and the velocity is "v". lets take the two cases

1. if the jet is in the gravitational field of earth :

T he speed of the dropped stone is "v"and the acceleration is "g" as the coin leaves the contact of the jet it acquires the velocity of jet

but will act under the acceleration "g"

2 If it is outside the gravitational field of earth:

it will acquire the velocity "v" and will proceed with  the same velocity for the same reason as above

the coin will go some what up and it begins to fall....... it will be like a body that is projected from ground with some initial velocity........
