I dont think your rank would be any better than 5000...In any case,..if you dont manage an Engg branch in any of the old IITs,...i would definitely suggest you to go for ISM Dhanbad...Being an ISMite,...I know the standards of college here,placements and also the probability of it becoming an IIT....You would definitely get a decent Earth Science Engineering branch for a rank of 5000 or so at ISM Dhanbad
