hi..
here's a small question..
gold is brought near a powerful magnet..wat happens?
it gets repelled or attracted or nothin happens??
in my book..its given that it gets repelled..coz gold is diamagnetic..
in another question..its given that magnets attract magnetic substances n dont hv any effect on non mag substances..
now these two statements contradict..wts the right answer??
does gold get repelled coz diamagnetic substances have negative susceptibility??
