hi..here's a small question..gold is brought near a powerful magnet..wat happens?it gets repelled or attracted or nothin happens??in my book..its given that it gets repelled..coz gold is diamagnetic..in another question..its given that magnets attract magnetic substances n dont hv any effect on non mag substances..now these two statements contradict..wts the right answer??does gold get repelled coz diamagnetic substances have negative susceptibility??plz help..ram.
