Block of an element is decided by the last subshell in which electron is entered according to aufbau principle. Since electronic configuration of He is 1s2 and last entered electron goes is s subshell hence helium belongs to s block.

Dear student
The valence electron of He is in s orbital ,
But its chemical property meet with that of p orbital So,
It should be considered as p Block element
But it is s Block element only
