Dear student
Since, NaOH is a strong base, we can directly determine the pOH as it is equal to −log[OH−].
Given that, [OH−]=1 M
∴pOH=−log1=0
∵pH+pOH=14 [From ionic product of water, [H+]×[OH−]=10^−14]
Hence, Statement I is false, statement II is true.

ANSWER

Since, NaOH is a strong base, we can directly determine the pOH as it is equal to log[OH].

Given that, [OH]=1 M
pOH=log1=0
pH+pOH=14 [From ionic product of water, [H+]×[OH]=1014]
Hence, Statement I is false, statement II is true.
