Dear student....Gibbs Energy is derived from the second law of thermodynamics which, with some simple assumptions, can be re-expressed as a change in entropy and a change in enthalpy... . We can find the change in Gibb`s Free Energy as ∆G = ∆H - T ∆S....Application (1) To predict whether a reaction is spontaneous, If ∆G is negative then reaction is spontaneous...(2) To find entropy change, If ∆G is positive, then the entropy change for the universe is negative, and vice versa.....With Regards ....Mahima....(Askiitians Forum Expert )
