As the "n" value of "ns" orbital increses, its radius also increases. Which means "(n+x)s" orbital is farer from the nucleus than "ns" orbital. So the electronegativity of "(n+x)s" orbital is less than that of "ns" orbital. And as we know the extent of overlapping is directly proportional to the electronegativity of the atomic orbital, the extent of overlapping decreases with increase in "n" value of "ns" orbital.
