Flag Inorganic Chemistry> Water - Hydrogen sulfide - Universal solv...
question mark

I read somewhere that it is the polarity of water molecules that makes water a universal solvent. Then what about Hydrogen sulfide? Even Hydrogen sulfide(H2S) shows polarity. Why isnt it capable of dissolving as many substances as water?
Thanks!

The Degree Polarity of H2S is not same as that of H2O. both has different the leads to the difference in the capabilty of dissolving.
