Hi,

if there is bonding between two atoms and if there is any vacant orbital in one atom and there is one lone pair of electrons on one atom.

if this electron pair is donated to that respective vacant orbital then the bonding is p(pie)-p(pie) or p(pie)-d(pie) depends on the orbital to which the electron pair is donated and from  the electron pair is donated.

Regards,
