JEE Advanced 2014 Exam Pattern and Marking scheme

It’s useful for JEE advanced aspirants to know the expected number of questions per subject, duration of exam type of exam, and marking scheme of exam. Given below is the detailed marking scheme, exam pattern and paper pattern for JEE advanced 2014.

JEE Advanced 2014 paper pattern:

1. JEE Advance 2014 consists of 2 papers,paper I and paper II.
2. Each of the question papers will consist of three separate parts in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
3. The duration of each exam is ofthree hours duration.
4. JEE Advance papers will be available in English and Hindi both.
5. The questions will be of objective (multiple choice) type, designed to test comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of candidates.
6. In some sections, incorrect answers may be awarded with negative marks.

JEE Advanced 2014 Question Pattern:

JEE Advanced 2014 Paper 1:paper 1 will comprise of Section I for Physics, Section II for Chemistry and Section III for Mathematics.

Each Section will have questions as follows:

1. Section 1 will contain 10 Multiple Choice Questions with four options out of which one option Only will be the correct answer
2. Section 2 will have 5 Multiple Choice Questions with four options each out of which one or more are correct.
3. Section 3 will have 5 questions and the answer to each will be a single digit integer ranging from 0 to 9

JEE Advanced 2014 Paper 2:paper 2 will comprise of Section I for Physics, Section II for Chemistry and Section III for Mathematics.

Each Section will have questions as follows:

1. Section1 will have 8 Multiple Choice Questions with foru options out of which one or more are correct.
2. Section 2 will have four paragraphs describing theory, practicals, data etc. There will be 8 questions in total with 2 questions per paragraph. Each question will 4 options out of which one is correct
3. Section 3 Matching List type questions where two lists are matched and options coded as A, B,C and D. Candidates have to choose the option as per the code

JEE Advanced 2014 answer sheet:

1. Candidates will be provided with a two page doublet of optical response sheet (ORS) for answering.
2. The answers for each of the questions are to be marked on the front page of the ORS by darkening the appropriate bubble/ bubbles.
3. Candidates must not separate or disturb the alignment of the two pages of the ORS at any stage during the examination.
4. Use black ball point pen only to darken the bubble(s) given as choices of answers to the questions.
5. The lower page containing impressions of bubbles will be given to candidates by the invigilator after carefully separating the two pages at the end of the examination.

Items Prohibited in the Examination Hall:Electronic devices like mobile phone, calculator, iPod, iPad etc. areNOT PERMITTEDin JEE (Advanced) – 2014. Further, items like log table, abacus, slide rule, book, notebook, geometry box etc. and any other means of calculation are also strictly prohibited in the examination hall
