Assuming the marks of your son is 96.6% (kindly confirm) , and looking at your JEE mains marks and OBC category yes it is possible of getting a NIT. But he should be aiming for advanced exams now and work on it. If he does well he can get an IIT college.

But as per your question , yes there is a possiblity of getting him a good NIT college,
