the centre of mass of a system of three particles of masses 1g, 2g and 3g is taken as the origin of a coordinate system. The position vector of a fourth particle of mass 4g such that the centre of mass of the four particle system lies at the point(1,2,3) is α(i + 2j+ 3k), where α is a constant. the value of α is?

a(i+2j+3k) is the coordinate of the 4th particle with respect to the centre of mass.
Now ,the coordinate of centre of mass is (0,0,0) and coordinate of the 4th particle is (1,2,3).So the realtive distance of 4th point with respect to centre of mass coordinate is
(1i+2j+3k)-(0i+0j+0k)
=1i+2j+3k
Comparing it with the expression given we get a=1.
