The area of cross section of a wire is 10 -5 m 2 . When irs length is increased by 0.1% a tension of 1000N is produced. What will be the youngs modulus of the wire.

We know the Young’s modulus formulae:
Y = Fl/Adelta(l)
   = 1000l/(10^-5 * (1/10000))
   = 10^7/10^-5
   = 10^12 N/m^2
