T is the period of oscillation of a mass M suspended by a uniform light spring of force constant K. The spring is cut into n equal pieces and the above experiment is repeated using only one of the pieces, the new period of oscillation would be (a) nT(b) T /n(c) T /√n(d) T√n

Initially,
T = 2pi*root(k/m)
after cutting into n pieces
each spring constant be let k1.
then,
1/K = 1/k1 + 1/k1 + ----- + n/k1
1/K = n/k1
k1 = nK
New Time period,
T’ = 2piroot(k1/m) = > 2pi root(nK/m)
Divide T/T’ and get the value.
