a calorimeter contains12 gm of ice and 100 gm of water at 0 degre c .The water equivalent of the calorimeter is 25 gm .if 5 gm of steam is passed at 100 degre c in the calorimeter,then calculate the temperature of the mixture

According to the law of conservation of heat.

Heat lost by the steam= Heat gained by ice and water.
To reach a common temperature, firstly the ice will melt, and heat required is:
=4008 joules
Now,
Therefore,
T=8.6 degree Celsius (approx.)
