A parallel plate capacitor is charged by connecting its plates to the terminals of a battery. The battery remains connected and a glass plate is interposed between the plates of the capacitor, then A. the charge on plates will be reduced B. the charge on plates will increase C. the potential difference between the plates of the capacitor will be reduced D. the potential difference between the plates of the capacitor will increase

Dielectrics are usually placed between the two plates of parallel plate capacitors. They can fully occupy the region between the plates or can partially occupy. When the dielectric is placed between the two plates of parallel plate capacitor, it is polarized by the electric field present.
