Two identical spheres of same mass and specific gravity 2.4 have charges Q and -3Q. They are suspended from two strings of same length fixed to points at the same horizontal level, but distance from each other. When the entire set up is transferred inside a liquid of specific gravity 0.8, it is observed that the inclination of each s thing in equilibrium remains unchanged. The dielectric constant of the liquid is k. Find the value of 2k.

When the angle remains same a quick method is to divide the density of liquid with difference in the densities of the liquid and solid In this case, its simply = 2.4/2.4-0.8=1.5=k. Now 2k=3
