Derive an expression for electric potential at the centre of an equilateral triangle of side 2a when charges of magnitudes q,2q and 3q are placed in the three vertices. Explain in detail.

First find the distance b/w the vertices to center of the equ. triangle.
And it will come as:
r (let) = (2/root3)a { a/hypertenuse = cos30}
 
Now  since potential is a scalar quantity only sign matters .i.e all are positive charges.
Therfore net Electric potential at center is:
V net = V1 + V2 + V3
         = kq/r + k(2q)/r + k(3q)/r 
         = 6kq/r
put r
=> 6kq/(2/root3)a
=> 3root3kq/a
