a circular ring of radius R has linear charge distribution of lamda.Tt isplaced in a x-y plane such that its axis coincides with the z axis a)show that 'E' at distance 'z' from the origin is equivalent to that of point charge situated at origin for z>>R b)Find the distance zmax where E is maximum

1)It can be written as E = (kQ/x^2)(1/(1+(a/x)^2)^1.5
for x>>a , the term a/x will reduce to 0
2) It becomes maximum at x= 0.707a
