A capacitor of capacitance 4uf is charged to 80v and another capacitor is charged to 30 uf of capacitance 6uf. When they are connected , the energy lost by 4uf capacitor is?

Energy loss when two capacitor are connected is given by
E = (½C1C2/(C1+C2))(V1 – V2)2
E =(12/10)(80 – 30)2
E = 3000 J.
