Suppose I connect the both terminals of a battery with a single wire .Is short circuiting happen or not?

In the real situation, since an ideal conductor does not exist, it depends upon the material of the wire that you use. If it has a very low resitance, the value of current will be very high and hence a short circuit will take place. But it the resistance of wire used is high, just a large amount of current might flow through it
