Dear student,

In the real situation, since an ideal conductor does not exist, it depends upon the material of the wire that you use. If it has a very low resitance, the value of current will be very high and hence a short circuit will take place. But it the resistance of wire used is high, just a large amount of current might flow through it

Hope it solves your query.

It is “short circuited”

You have completed an external circuit, like any other, but with very low resistance.

The maximum current that the battery can supply will flow, and the only thing limiting it will be the battery’s own internal resistance. Which will start to heat up.
