If diameter of wire is tripled what will be its new resistance? by changing diameter we actually chnage its area, so by changing area is there any change in lenght? (because volume should remain constant) or it will remain same in above mentioned case?

As the resistance of a wire is inversely proportional to the square of the diameter of a conducting wire if its diameter is tripled its resistance becomes 9th part of the previous resistance.

IF in question it is given that diameter is changed by compressing or stressing wire then only length of wire changes.
