we say that there is the component of a vector in a direction perpendicular to itself is 0.consider a force F1 and F2 prpendicular F1 is resolved into 2 components F1cosq and F1sinqwhere q<90 and F1cosq cqn be further resolved as F1cosqsinq.bt there is no component of force in a direction prpendicular to F1 bt F1c

no my dear friend there is confusion in your mind F1cos q when resolved in a direction perpendicular then you have to consider the angle is 90 degree.it cant be be F1cosq sinq because the angle between F1cosq and F1 sin q is 90 degree when resolved F1cos q in a direction perpendicualr to itself is F1 COSQ COS90 which is zero
thanks and regards
