Fascinating fairly-tales are part of everyone’s childhood and so are scary ghost stories. Interestingly, we hardly remember fairy-tales when we grow up but one memory that never leaves us from the childhood is the spine chilling thrill of ghost stories. No matter what, they come often to haunt us in our dreams. But if that’s not what haunts you even today, then we bet you take a brief tour to some of India’s most haunted colleges. Yes, colleges! This is where you will least expecting ghosts to be. 1.Calcutta Women’s College, Calcutta University India’s most famous ghost prefers to live in one of Kolkata’s high-class areas. Alipore is a high-class royal society with Warren Hastings’ ghost as its most famous celebrity. Warren Hastings was the governor general of British India from 1773 to 1785. Calcutta Women’s college has established on the site of his residence. The ghost of Warren Hastings pops out every year on New Year’s Eve. His ghost has been felt rushing up the staircase in Calcutta Women’s college. 2.University of Pune Pune University has a grave of Alice Richman silently tucked away in one corner. The grave has the inscription stating that the lady died of Cholera in January, 1886. However, many don’t believe this story. Alice is an unstable soul in search of peace. She has been often spotted by people in the area in white gown. 3.St. Bedge’s College Shimla St. Bedge’s College in Shimla is more popular for its scary ghosts than its beautiful girl students. Indian film star Preity Zinta is one of the famous graduates of St. Bedge’s. There is a strong presence of a ghost in the college premises. Girls and college staff have reported of mysterious ghostly noises in the dining hall. 4.SNDT, Girls College, Mumbai We are made to believe that ghosts mostly love loneliness. But the ghosts in SNDT Girls College in Mumbai are very friendly. More than one ghost have been felt wandering in the college premises very often.
