Sir can you please which is most stable ionic bond NaCl or CsCl. Acc. To lattice energy NaCl but acc to fajan rule it is CsCl.

Dear Student,
for making a stronger bond the sizes of the cation and anion should be compatible. The lattice energy is high in case of the smaller size cations. So NaCl is more stable ionic bond. Fajans Rule is applied to large sized anions getting deformed by small size cations so in case CsCl Fajans rule is not a reason.
