Law of Segregation
It states that each trait consists of two alleles which segregate during formation of gametes and one allele from each parent combine during fertilization
eg: A monohyrid cross
                        Male                             Female
                           TT             x                  tt
F1 Progeny                           Tt
 
Here the progeny has both the allele of parents. 50% from the father and 50% from the mother. This occurs due to segregation of alleles during gamete formation in parents. The combination of these gametes during fertilisation results in the heterozygous progeny
