First of all by using the SDS-PAGE technique
Dissociation of protein sub units is possible.
The question is wrong
In the given question 1000kDa is given
But if we consider all “8” sub units are of 30kDa its only 240kDa and not1000kDa.

When these type of questions are asked:
Just remember that
Sum (addition) of all subunits must give the total proetin weight in kDa.

I agree with the answer. We can not calculate the total number of subunits with given data but type of subunits can be answered. As there are three different SDS PAGE band, so three type subunit will be there. But we can not tell the total number of subunits.
