Straight line with negative slope passing through the point (1,4) meets the coordinate  axes at A and B . The minimum value of  OA+ OB is equal to??? Pls explain.

Let the slope be m,

then using the equation y=mx+c ,

We get a condition and then converting this equation to the form x/a + y/b =1;

Thus minimizing the value of a+b.
