For solving AGP just mulitpy by r and after shifting one place subtract as follows

​Sn = a + (a+d)r + (a+2d)r​2 + . . . .. + a​n
rSn= ar+(a +d)r​2 ​+ . . . . . + a​n-1 ​+ an
On subtracting you will observe that it will get simplified and this is general method to solve any AGP.
