Dear student,

From geometry, the angle of refraction from the first surface in this case will be equal to the prism angle as shown in figure.

From Snell’s law,

$sin i=\mu sinA$
Since $A$ is small,

$sin A\approx A$
$\implies sin r=\mu A$
$\implies r\approx sin r=\mu A$
