Dear student
Simple tissues are tissues that are made up of only one type of cell. The various simple tissues in plants are parenchyma, collenchyma, and sclerenchyma.
-Parenchyma forms the major component within organs. The cells of parenchyma are generally isodiametric. They are either closely packed or have little intercellular spaces. Parenchymatous cells perform various functions like photosynthesis, storage, and secretion.
-In dicotyledonous plants, collenchyma occurs in layers below the epidermis. Collenchyma provides mechanical support to growing parts of the plant, such as the leaf's young leaf and small petiole.
-Sclerenchyma consists of cells that are usually dead and without protoplasts. It provides mechanical support to organs.

Dear student

  • Simple tissues are homogeneous and composed of structurally and functionally similar cells. These are of three types parenchyma, collenchyma, and sclerenchyma.
  •  Parenchyma cells are filled with cytoplasm and has a prominent nucleus. These are at a constant state of division.
Thanks
