Why could you not use an elastic measuring tape to measure distance? What would be some of the problems you would meet in telling someone about a distance you measured with an elastic tape?

Since the tape is elastic it will stretch leading to inaccurate measurements. The tape would measure a longer distance when stretched & will later reduce to a smaller size.

elastic tape is not rigid in shape.it elongates while stretching leads to different measurements.

Elastic measuring tape is strechable.it cannot be used to measure distances because the length of the tape may change on streaching
