A thick coating of a paste of Plaster of Paris (POP) is applied over the bandage on a fractured bone. It becomes hard on drying to keep the fractured bone immobilised. Can the change in POP be reversed?

When water is added to plaster of Paris (POP), it changes to another substance and on drying it hardens. Once the POP has hardened, its shape cannot be changed. Therefore, the change in POP cannot be reversed.

This is an example of chemical change which cannot be reversed by using simple physical means. However, this change can be reversed using some chemical means.

No, the change in the POP cannot be reverse.it is a chemical change and it can not be reversed because after it became hard it became a solid

This is an example of chemical change.  It can't be reversed using physical means. You have to either heat the plaster or do some other complex processes.

2CaSO4.H2O + 3H2O = 2CaSO4.2H2O
This is a irreversible chemical change. Hence POP cannot be reverted back after it becomes hard

  1. No, the change cannot be reversed pop has a property of setting into a hard masses on wetting with water due to the formation of a new compound called gypsum . once the pop is hardened, it cannot be reversed back to pop .tense ,it is an in reversible change

NO, THE CHANGE IN P.O.P CANNOT BE REVERSED AS IT BECOME HARD ON DRYING AND A NEW SUBSTANCE IS FORMED WHICH CANNOT BE REVERSED BACK IN IT'S ORIGINAL FORM.THEREFORE, CHANGE IN THE P.O.P CANNOT BE REVERSED AND IT IS A CHEMICAL CHANGE.
