India is a vast country in terms of varied landforms. Geologically India represents a monumental assemblage of rocks different character belonging to different ages, ranging from pre-Cambrian to the recent  times. India has lofty Himalayan mountain chain in the north, vast alluvial plain in next to it, it has vast peninsular plateau in the south. It has long coastline in south east and south west part and has islands.
