Prime numbers are the numbers whose factors are 1 and the number itself. For suppose consider 2, it has factors as 1 and the number itself i.e., 2 but composite numbers are the numbers which have more than two factors ex 4 it has factors 1, 2 , 4 which is other than 1 nd the number itself. least prime number is 2 and 2 is also the least even prime number

prime numbers are the ones whose factors are 1 and itself. They can have many multiple though. The no.s which do not have only two fators are called composite numbers. e.g. for prime numbers:2,3,13,17,5 etc. e.g. for composite no.s:4,9,18, 49 etc. 
extra tip: 2 is the only even prime number

Prime numbers are those kinds of numbers which are having their factors as 1 and the number itself.
 
For example, take the number 5. 
 
What all factors does it have?
They are 1, number itself, that is, 5.
 
So, a few examples of prime numbers are 2,3,5,7,11,13,17,19,23,29,31 and so on.
 
One more thing is that : 2 is the only even prime numbers. All other numbers are composite, that is, they have more than 2 factors. 
 
For example, 16. The factors of 16 are 1,2,4,8,16, so that sums up to a total of 5 factors.

prime numbers are those numbers which are divisible by 1 and by itself only . No other number can divide them .
For example , 2 is a prime number . It is divisible by 1 and 2 only .
similarly 5 is a prime number.
