adding -4 to both side,we get
(8x+4)-4=2-4
8x+4-4=-2
8x=-2
8x/8=-2/8
x=-1/4
thus the value of x=-1/4 for which the equation is satisfied.

RHS=2
Therefore left hand side=right hand side
