What is the difference between the lithosphere and the biosphere? Being that both the lithosphere & the biosphere in science research are both the outermost layer of a planet's rocky surface, what sets them apart?

The lithosphere is the solid outer layer of the earth that includes the uppermost part of the mantle and crust. The biosphere includes a part of the earth that supports life. The lithosphere includes non-living matter. The components of the biosphere are dependant and live on the lithosphere.
