Hello Student
Mendel who was an Austrian monk made a great contribution in genetics. I will say, he gave a base to the genetic study.
While studying on pea plant, he gave three laws which are-
- Law of dominance
- Law of seggregation &
- Law of independent assortment.
He is known as the ‘father of genetics’
Now what these laws are. You can go for a detail description of it in herehttp://blog.askiitians.com/mendel-gene-idea/
