Important Dates for JEE Main Counselling Sessions

 

JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) will conduct the counseling sessions for the NIT+ system (NITs, IIITs, and other Government Funded Technical Institutes) along with the CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) for the academic session of 2022-2023. The counseling sessions are likely to be held in September or October.

    JEE Main 2022 was held in two sessions - June and July.
     
  2. How many times can I attempt JEE Main?
    A candidate can give JEE Main exam a maximum of six times over three consecutive years. If you have cleared your Class 12 exams in 2022, you could appear for the JEE Main exam in June and July this year, twice in 2023, and again, twice in 2024.
     
  3. Is JEE Main easier than JEE Advanced?
    JEE Advanced is held for admission to the IITs only, so it is considered tougher than JEE Main, which is the qualifying exam for both IITs and NITs. JEE Main questions are based on Class 11 and 12 NCERT syllabus, and are more direct and application-based, while JEE Advanced questions are more conceptual and require higher order thinking skills.

    There is no pass or fail in JEE Main. Candidates who score the minimum required marks will be included in the merit list and will be eligible for admission to engineering colleges.
