What is NEET (AIPMT) 2016 All About ?

NEET (AIPMT) 2016 is considered one of the most popular medical entrance exams for admission in about 2200 MBBS and 300 BDS seats at 130 government medical and 30 dental colleges all over India. For the year 2016, the All India Pre Medical Test will be held on 1st Week of May, 2016 except in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

Every year more than 5 lakh students appear in the NEET (AIPMT) medical entrance exams. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the All India Pre Medical Test 2016 (NEET (AIPMT) 2016) to screen students for 15% seats in all the medical or dental colleges of India. Several state governments, universities and institutions also accept NEET (AIPMT) scores to admit students to their MBBS and BDS courses.

NEET (AIPMT) 2016 Application Procedure

  • NEET (AIPMT) 2016 application procedure will start from the first week of December 01st Week, 2015.

  • Candidate can submit the NEET (AIPMT) 2016 application form only through the online mode. No other process is applicable. 

  • The application form fee for General candidates is Rs 1200/- while those for the OBC and SC/ST/PH candidates is Rs 650/-

  • NEET (AIPMT) 2016 application fee can be paid through Debit/Credit Card/Challan along with Service Tax as applicable.

NEET (AIPMT) 2016 Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be at least 17 years old on Last Week of December, 2015 to be eligible for the exam.

  • The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission under 15 per cent All India Quota Seats is 25 years as on Last Week of December, 2015. However, there are 5 years age relaxations for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes

  • Those applicants who have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English and have scored 50% marks in their class 12 board exams are eligible for the NEET (AIPMT) exam.

NEET (AIPMT) 2016 Exam Pattern

Generally, NEET (AIPMT) 2016 exam is based on the syllabus as prescribed by the CBSE.  There will be 180 multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, Zoology and Botany subjects. The question paper will carry of 720 marks.

 Important Points to Remember

  • The NEET (AIPMT) Question will be of four sets

  • The question papers will be set in both English and Hindi Language.

  • All the questions will be based on the syllabus prescribed by the CBSE.

  • Each question can fetch you four marks

  • One mark will be deducted for each wrong answer
