It was a proud moment for the state of Jammu and Kashmir when the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar was established in the year 1960. NIT Srinagar is one of the 31 NITs in India and is an Institute of National Importance declared by the Government of India. The institute is located on the banks of the world-famous Dal Lake in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. The natural beauty and serenity of the place are unmatched and attract a lot of tourists from all over the world every year.
NIT Srinagar offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in various engineering disciplines. Admissions to these programs are done through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. The institute has been consistently ranked among the top NITs in the country and is also one of the most sought-after engineering colleges in Jammu and Kashmir.
The cutoff is the minimum marks required to be eligible for admission into a particular course or program at a college. The JEE Main 2022 cutoff for NIT Srinagar will be released by the institute on its official website once the result for Session 2 is declared. The cutoff will be different for each category and course. Yes, NIT Srinagar is one of the most famous and popular engineering colleges in Jammu and Kashmir. The college is consistently ranked among the top NITs in the country and J&K. It is best known for its Computer Science Engineering (CSE), Information Technology (IT), and Mechanical Engineering (ME) branches.
NIT Srinagar offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in various engineering disciplines. Admissions to these programs are done through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. In all, it has 13 academic departments: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Metallurgical Engineering, Mathematics, Humanities, Social Science & Management, Chemistry, and Physics.
You need a minimum of 95 percentile to get into any NIT. The actual JEE Main 2022 cutoffs are expected to be declared soon. Candidates must score equal to or above the specified cutoff marks to stand a chance of getting admission into their desired course at NIT Srinagar.
The placement rate of NIT Srinagar is quite good as compared to other engineering colleges in Jammu and Kashmir. The highest placement package offered to students in 2022 was INR 19.56 LPA. The average salary package offered was INR 9 LPA while the median package was INR 5.8 LPA.
NIT Srinagar is open to students from all states of India. There is no domicile restriction for admission into any of the programs offered by the institute. The natural beauty of the campus is alluring. While there are no cinemas or malls here, the beautiful mountains and ample snowfall compensate for them enough. Students are safe inside the campus. If there's trouble brewing outside, students are asked to remain inside the campus for their safety.
