History:
Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, is one of the top eight REC (Regional Engineering Colleges) to be established in India and was named after Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first education Minister of Govt. of India, the great scholar and educationist. In 1960 The Government of Madhya Pradesh and The Government of India collectively sponsored the then MACT (a Regional Engineering College) to attract brilliant young students from corner to corner the nation. Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology is positioned in southern part of Bhopal, M.P.
The verdant 650-acre (2.6 km2) College campus, on a gorgeous plateau, house, about Fifteen Hundred student and Four Hundred faculty who enjoy outstanding facilities of laboratories that are well prepared. Over the past forty years of the effective survival the laboratories have not only at attained confidence and maturity but also fashioned themselves as hub for brilliance for higher education.
Campus:
MANIT is situated in Bhopal on southern side with its campus spreading over an area of 652 acres (2.6 km2). Housing in total about 1500 students and 400 faculty, the institute in addition to its academic block, has a new computer centre, a small dispensary with two doctors, a big auditorium with seating capacity of 1000 persons, Institute Cafeteria, a gymnastic hall, a large number of play fields, and a new sports complex which is rapidly coming up.

Hostel:
Built-in an area of 13,092 sq.m, there are 6 hostels in the institutes campus, 5 Hostels for boys with a capacity of 1200 students, and a girl hostel with a capacity of 200 girls. Each hostel has additional but kind of limited indoor and outdoor games facilities.

Cultural Activities:
MANIT hosts a variety of events both at National Level as well as in annual events of the college. 'Technosearch' is an Annual National Level Technical Meet which is done on a vast scale in terms of its Quality and events. ‘Samadhan’ is yet another Annual National Level event on programming test. 'Maffick' is the Annual Cultural Festival of the college, ‘Robotics’ the Annual festival where various robots made the students of the college are set in display. 'RIPPLE' is another annual college event, a Literary festival hosted by the college literary society DRISHTANT. Twist is the annual quiz competition by college society IBC, and finally the “sports o mania” the annual sports meet of the college.
