why trigonometric idenetities are applicable for right angled triangles only?
Dear Amarnath ,
consider cos2 x +sin2 x =1 , it is a trigonometric identity and applicable in all triangles. so are cos x = 1 /sec x. so it is your misconception that they can be applied to only right angled triangles.
if you were talking about identities like sinx = altitude/hypotenuse , then yes , they are applied to right angle triangles only because these quantities are defined like these. i guess it is clear now.
