Surface tension is defined as  force acting per unit length. It can also be explained as tension on the surface film of a liquid by its particles which tends to minimise it's surface. Some applications are-
1. antiseptic have low surface tension . So they spread fastly covering the wounded region
2. Duck is able to float on water easily as it secretes oil from its glands which minimises the surface tension of water.
