Physical chemistry is mostly thermodynamics and quantum mechanics, so, yeah, lots of equations and math. Not necessarily easier, but definitely a different style of chemistry than O-chem. It's been my experience that people that excel at O-chem generally struggle with P-chem and vice versa.
1. Always put a mathematical approach as in physics
2. Split the topics in different segments and find their practical application
3. For numerical portion you may try, RC Mukharjee or O.P. Tandon’s Physical chemistry..

if you try to understand the apllications of Physical Chemsiry in real world, you will like the subject and you wiil enjoy with the topics of physical chemsitry. 
for example: Osmosis, Freezing point , boiling point, how ice creams were made in earlier days, etc,.
 
this book will help you for understanding the real world.
