Follwing are the rules:
a) Name of the cation is composed before the name of the anion

b) The Greek prefixes mono-, di-, tri-are utilized to demonstrate the quantity of ligands which are basic while bis-, tris-and tetrakis-are utilized for muddled ligands.

c) The name of the ligand precedes the name of the metal to which it is facilitated.

d) Neutral ligands have their ordinary names aside from the accompanying aquo(H2O), ammine(NH3),carbonyl(CO).

e) Ligands going about as anions which end in "ide"are supplanted with a closure "- o"(e.g. Chloride - > Chloro) while anions finishing with "- ite" and "- ate" are supplanted with closure "- ito" and "- ato" separately (e.g. Nitrate - >Nitrato and Nitrite - >Nitrate)

f) Oxidation number of the metal iota shown by a Roman numeral in the enclosures after the name of the metal molecule.
