Dear manjushreaa

Isobars are different types of atoms (nuclides) of different chemical elements that have the same number of nucleons. Correspondingly, isobars differ in atomic number (or number of protons) but not in mass number.

So by definition they are isobars

Dear Manjushree,

Atoms of different elements having the same mass no. are known as isotopes.

In your question it is mentioned that both na and mg hae mass no. 23 so they are Isotones.

For your knowledge, mass no. is the total no. of protons and neutrons in an atom.
