Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams, and buildings.
Generally, civil engineer’s starting salary could be between INR 2.5 lacs to INR 3.5 lacs per annum (if graduated from colleges other than IITs).

Civil Engineers can be appointed by Government Departments, Real Estate Societies, Power Plants, Transportation, Private and Public Sector Undertakings, Consultancy Firms, Industrial Plants & Building, Housing and Urban Development and Teaching Institutions.
