Sir, I got 92 % marks in class XII and ‘13416’ rank in JEE Main 2014. My parents got me provisionally admitted in DTU with EE branch in 2 nd round. But being a Delhi category student I will not get hostel accomodation in DTU campus . In NITs I got Metallurgical & Material Engg. in NIT Surathkal in 2 nd round, where I would have got in campus hostel accomodation, but my parents didnot proceed futher considering I would not get further upgrades according to my locked choices. Now, in Spot round of NITs I may get CSE, ECE, ME, EEE, EE in NIT Raipur, Durgapur , Hamirpur, Jamshedpur, and in top NITs – Warangal , Surathkal, Trichy -- I may again get Metallurgy, but I would get in campus hostel accomodation in the NITs,. Meanwhile I am retaining DTU with EE branch which may upgrade to ME and EEE or even ECE as per my locked choices but I would not get in campus hostel. I am confused – what should I do considering all parameters ? Please help.

Branch should overseed your concern with hostel accomodation.As far as your choices are concerned, DTU EE with a possibility if upgradation is a good option. Also the option of top branches in NIT Raipur, Hamirpur etc. but not metallurgy in top NITs. The other two options which you have are better than metallurgy in top NITs.Its better that you stick with DTU EE with further possibilities because thats better option than Spot Counselling , keeping in mind the quality of education and placement scenario at both the places.
